Is Winter a Good Time to Go Solar?

Posted on Dec 4, 2018

Winter is upon us, and there is a common misconception among those thinking of converting to solar energy that winter is not the time to go solar. But the truth is that winter is just as good a time as any to invest in and to enjoy the benefits of a solar energy system. For those thinking of investing in a new solar energy system, consider that it takes time to have a solar panel system fully installed and wired into the local power grid. Purchasing and installing a solar energy system now ensures that the system will be up and running before the summer months begin. Also be aware that in most regions, solar panel installers prefer installing panels in the winter months to avoid the uncomfortably hot conditions when working on roofs in the summer months. For those living in regions that enjoy seasonal changes in temperature, it may come as a pleasant surprise to know that...

LADWP Solar Incentive Expires at the End of 2018

Posted on Nov 27, 2018

If you are a homeowner in the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) service area, this is your last chance to jump in on their solar incentive program. Now until December 31, 2018, LADWP is offering $0.25 per watt for residential solar energy systems. This amounts to an average of $2,500 for a 10 kW system (about 30 solar panels) in net savings to LA homeowners who apply for the incentive within the next five weeks.

There are approximately $7 million worth of rebate funds available for the program—enough for only 5,000–7,000 more homes to purchase a solar energy system and cash in before the end-of-the-year deadline.

Once LADWP ends the incentive, it will be gone for good!

So help yourself with the reduced cost for your solar panel installation by acting NOW. Contact Green Solar Technologies and let us...

And there exists brilliant inventors, among which are Samuel Morse, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and of course Edison’s greatest contender, Nikola Tesla. At this time, Tesla had recently discovered how to harness the alternating current with the AC motor, essentially winning out the infamous “War of the Currents.” With the advent of this newfound power now discovered for the human race, the future of electrical technology has been shaken wide open. It was up to the world,...

Why Price Doesn't Always Matter Most

Posted on Nov 20, 2018

We all aspire to achieve the American dream. Owning our own property with pride and gaining as much financial independence and freedom of life as possible. Part of this dream is peace of mind and convenience. But what good is this dream when issues arise and we can't enjoy the fruit of our hard work?

Let's face it, as the saying goes, you often get what you pay for. There's no easy way around it. Same applies when it comes to your decision to go solar. An example that comes to mind is cellular plans. We all know which companies offer the best programs—not the cheapest, but simply the best. These are Verizon and AT&T. Sure you can go to Sprint and save a few bucks, but you lose the ability to use data while on a call. Then you can buy a plan with a company like Metro PCS. If you do, good luck streaming that game or your favorite show without without...

Solar Energy - A Huge Asset to the Expanding Legal Cannabis Industry

Posted on Nov 15, 2018

With the recent and continuing emergence of multiple states legalizing cannabis for either medical and/or recreational use, Green Solar Technologies is excited and proud to be serving and supporting the ever-expanding legal cannabis industry. Many factions within the industry must utilize an exorbitant amount of electricity within their operations, specifically those with indoor growing facilities. Some utility companies have reported power outages, which could be directly attributed to local cannabis facilities’ extreme electricity needs. Indoor facilities allow for more control over the product, higher yields and multiple harvests but at a price of having to generate a massive amount of electricity to power the year-round lighting and HVAC systems, most prominently in states which can have harsh winters such as Massachusetts. The IRS code allows for expensing all costs...
